I’d been in a 12-step program for a few months.
In this program, we were invited to connect with our higher power.
You cannot get out of a hard financial situation, or an addiction, by willpower alone.
You need to connect with God, with your higher power.
We were also invited to connect and share our vision.
We did this a few times during the calls.
Then we were invited to let my vision get bigger and bigger and bigger.
Beyond reason, beyond what we could ever imagine.
It took a week for this question to do its work on me.
By the next week, something hit me hard like lightning.
    It was my quest.

It had always been there all along, but out of my awareness.
    For years.
It had come to visit me from time to time.
To make sure that I was keeping on my Quest.
But it couldn’t stick with it because I didn’t have the capacity to hold it.
I thought that had lost it, but I was really preparing myself.
After connecting with my quest, it felt like being at home.

I don’t have a method to give you. Every quest is unique, and that’s what makes each one authentic. What I have is a space, and questions I keep returning to, and I’d love to ask them with you:

    • Where did your quest go?
    • How do you know if this is your real quest?
    • What if you have many?
    • How do you stay connected to it without pressure, without torturing yourself?
    • Are you ready for it?
    • Why is it so hard?
    • What would lighten the load, so you could feel it more clearly and ecstatically?

    Your Quest is not fair.

“To exist is to survive unfair choices.”
    —The OA

Being in your quest is an experience.

It’s what keeps you up at night. It’s what wakes you up in the middle of the night or early in the morning. It’s what powers you to stand on your feet.

I also noticed a few other things along the way.

When I started to get a sense of my quest, it seemed nearly impossible, and it scared me. At the same time something inside me said “this is what I’m here for.”

I’ve started wondering if that combination is the signature.

And I’ve started wondering whether I’ll finish it in this lifetime at all, and whether that changes whether I walk it.

Join this worktalk to get specific about your quest and let it light you on fire.

    About Jorge Pedret

Jorge Pedret standing on a pebble beach in a knitted hat and sweater, with the sea and a storm cloud behind him.

I live in Sooke, BC (T’Sou-ke Nation), on the west coast of Canada, where I hold space for humans to connect with the land and sea.

I work with spaceholders, families, edgeworkers, healers, cultural creatives and paradigm shifters, connecting with their quest, building digital ecosystems and what’s next from the ground down and up.

I’m really stoked to hold space for you to discover your quest and reconnect with it, to let your quest light you on fire, and to get specific about it.

The kind of specific where it’s undeniable that only you could have those details, because you are the one chosen for this quest.

Your quest is bigger than yourself, and it might seem impossible to fulfill in one lifetime.

After this worktalk, I hope you’ll have a renewed sense of your quest, so much so that it pulls you into its gravitational field, and pulls you out of the gravitational fields that were not in alignment with it.

I look forward to seeing you and discovering what your quest is.
